Less is More: Global Project Administration and Control.
Have you ever asked a five year old child to tell you what they saw at the fair, only to hear about who all went to the fair, what they were wearing, why they decided to go to the fair, and what happened three days before that. Somewhere in that story is what they saw at the fair, but by the time they get to it you’re probably wondering what you were all talking about in the first place.
When a kid gives you too much information when telling their story, it’s usually adorable, even if it’s a little frustrating. But, apply that same information overload to a product you’re using and you have a completely reversed experience- one that is extremely frustrating, and not even a little adorable.
That’s because a cluttered page, be it on a website or app, competes for your attention and reduces your ability to focus and process information. It can cause confusion, errors, increases stress-levels, and hinder productivity and creative thinking.
As Steve Jobs famously said “Keep it Simple, Stupid.” Your experience when using a product should be painless, if not downright enjoyable. We are constantly applying this philosophy to everything we build at Replicon.
That is why we have expanded our Global Governance and Local Administration capabilities with global project administration and control. Now, you can organize projects and payroll information by hierarchical groups, so admins and managers can decide how much or how little information they want to see.
Your company may have multiple locations, but that doesn’t mean you want to see Australia’s project or payroll information if you’re an in charge of the UK branch.
Through global project administration and control, those in charge of a local branch get an uncluttered, focused view that lets them control projects only in their own entity. This prevents local managers from accidentally modifying projects that are not under their supervision.
Since these groups take on a hierarchical nature, users can have their accessibility configured to their level. For ex: a global admin of USA can see and modify projects in California and New York, but a local admin in the California branch sees the projects only in their region without the distraction of data from New York.
This concept is also applied to reports and dashboard so admins can make informed decisions quickly and easily.
The configurability and controlled views lets you reduce the noise in your day-to-day work-life so your can stay productive, be creative, and spend more time doing what matters most.
